A quick 10kms from the village of Bungonia – a pleasant stopping place of the way to the Bungonia State Recreation Area, which covers 3,983 hectares of the Southern Tablelands and is characterised by tall forests, over 300 types of flora in the park and over 70 varieties of bird life. Some of the recreational activities within the Bungonia State Recreation Area are adventure caving – with the limestone caves here being amongst the deepest on the Australian mainland, bush walking with spectacular views from a number of lookouts in the area, rock climbing, canyoning, abseiling or picnicking.
